Album Info:Long one of my favorite places, Casper, Wyoming has the 'feeling' of a much bigger city than its large town population would indicate. C&NW's Cowboy Line once went here and the ghost of it remains to be found here and there. Nowdays the region is served by the BNSF, with many an interesting and photogenic subject to photograph. *Pls. note that this album will temporarliy have photos from other locales until i can move them to new, updated albums here..thx!

Day trip to Douglas..
Title:  Day trip to Douglas..
Description:  Former CNW depot now the town Chamber of Commerce/Visitor Center/RR Interpretive center near the state fairgrounds. Sighns off of I-25 will direct interested motorists to the location. It is easy to find off the main drag near the fairgrounds and current BNSF line, open 9-5 year round, {longer hours in summer} and has a neat collection of railcars. There is about 300ft. of separation from the old CNW RoW and the modern BNSF line. A Fairmont Speeder sits in the foreground.

Day trip to Douglas..
Title:  Day trip to Douglas..
Description:  CB&Q Diner No. 196, the 'Silver Salver'. This car was built in march 1947, and at the end of its career saw brief service in BN's business fleet [as the #1160] before being 'put to pasture'. Surprisingly, this car is new here! This was the best angle I could get and keep the tree off the car..

Day trip to Douglas..
Title:  Day trip to Douglas..
Description:  I was up against the fence and this was the best shot I could get..this car was first built as a standard 40' boxcar in July 1914 for the OSL as thier #120579. In February 1936 it was converted to a double deck stock car and renumbered to 48330. It was later renumbered again by the UP to 47926. Retired in 1964, it hauled sheep and pigs. Dont know how it got the number shown here.
